The Buckwheat Feeding Tube Holder was designed out of a need for the owner's father to keep his independence. The first designs were being tested back in 2008 after multiple research attempts to find a holder that would work and not finding anything on the market. Since then The Buckwheat has been modified to be easier to use, lighter and with recycled materials that can be sanitized. The current design has been in use since 2009 and has remained unchanged due to it's ease of use and simple design.
What differentiates "The Buckwheat" from the other peg tube Stands is the ability to secure the syringe to the feeding tube [or extension set], so there are no more leaks or hand cramps from holding them together! It also aids in the prevention of unintended removal of feeding tubes since it is placed under the users legs while seated leaving no way for The Buckwheat to tip over while connected to the user. See Instructions.
Proceeds from the sale of every Buckwheat go to covering the overhead costs of running a charity bike ride (ALS Bike Trek MN) that I started after my father passed. Since I started the trek in 2010, we have raised over $740K for ALS research.
